I don't talk much about my full time job but tonight, I got to spend some time with some of the amazing students that I work with. I am challenged daily by them to look at life in new ways. They make me laugh until I cry and I genuinely enjoy each and every one of them in  their own ways. I am blessed to be able to do something I love, work with students in a college atmosphere, and impact their lives in some way. I can only hope that I am as significant in their memories from this part of their lives, as they will always be for me. Tonight, we had our annual Holiday Party. Basically, I spend all day cooking yummy homemade food as my way of thanking them for what they do for us all year long. We ate, played games, talked and laughed. I may or may not have confused Bill Gates with Steve Jobs during apples to apples (oops).

It's wonderful when you find people who you can feel so comfortable with that they feel like family.

Last week, I spent some time with Anna & Rodger as we captured a special time in their life - Anna's first preganacy. This little guy is a pure miracle. His parents weren't expecting him but now he is almost here and is a huge blessing. You have met little Ava before, and I can't wait to see how she does as a big sister. Anna looks just gorgeous pregnant and I was honored to take these for their family.

This is Becca and her husband Guy. Becca is awesome, fantastic, amazing...and any other word that means great. Over the past few months, I have gotten to know Becca as a fellow photographer, but even more as a friend. She changed my life by showing me how to use lightroom (ok...that's little exaggeration, but she did change my photography workflow which was killer!) She has also been an amazing cheerleader and was even a fun roadtrip buddy along with my other photog friend Jenn. The first time I contacted her to ask if she wanted to meet for coffee, I was a nervous wreck! What if she thought I was an idiot?! Thank goodness she is super sweet and put up with my incessant questions.

Last Thursday, Kyle and I got the chance to hang out with Becca and Guy as we wandered around downtown Buffalo taking pictures of each other. It was so much fun and good to see what my clients go through when they are in front of my camera. Afterwards, we went to dinner at the yummy Century Grill! Becca and Guy, I hope you enjoy these and I hope we get to hang out again soon!

Oh my gosh! You both are so fierce!

I love this one!

Pretty sure this one is my favorite!

The first pictures of Kade that I saw were on facebook as my office manager Kerri got excited to learn that Tara had called me to set up a session using the gift certificate Kerri had given her. "You are going to love his chubby little cheeks Katie!" Kerri exclaimed as she showed me pictures of this adorable chunky monkey. When I walked into thier house, Tara and Peter instantly made me feel at home and welcome. As I spent the afternoon with them and Mr. Kade, I learned so much about them as a couple, saw how amazingly well they have adapted to parenthood and how well they they support each other. Kade really does have the cutest chubby little cheeks and thier family was such a pleasure to shoot!
